Warranty and insurance provider, NHBC<\/a> has launched its first-ever apprenticeship scheme aimed at developing the next generation of housebuilding talent<\/h2>\n

NHBC has become an\u00a0Education and\u00a0Skills Funding Agency-approved provider of apprenticeships.<\/p>\n

The company has welcomed the first cohort to its Construction Site Supervisor (CSS) apprenticeship scheme which has been designed with industry-leading employers to reflect their specific needs.<\/p>\n

The CSS apprenticeship\u00a0aims to\u00a0support\u00a0the\u00a0sector\u00a0as it faces an ongoing\u00a0skills shortage<\/a>\u00a0compounded by the\u00a0ongoing\u00a0pandemic.<\/p>\n

NHBC\u00a0apprenticeships\u00a0will be delivered by\u00a0the\u00a0company\u2019s\u00a0training team whose\u00a0qualified tutors have decades of construction and\u00a0coaching experience\u00a0between them.<\/p>\n

\u2018A first rung on the ladder\u2019<\/h3>\n

Darryl Stewart, NHBC\u2019s<\/a> head of training and analysis, said: \u201cThis\u00a0is an\u00a0exciting\u00a0new\u00a0chapter for\u00a0NHBC\u00a0and we look forward to\u00a0training builders of the future who will\u00a0commit to\u00a0high standards throughout their careers.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur apprenticeships provide a first rung on the ladder,\u00a0along with a solid understanding of the issues and opportunities facing the industry<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe chose\u00a0Construction\u00a0Site Supervisor as our\u00a0initial\u00a0apprenticeship to underscore the vital\u00a0role\u00a0that\u00a0site\u00a0supervisors and\u00a0managers\u00a0play\u00a0in\u00a0the delivery\u00a0of\u00a0high-quality\u00a0new homes.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur\u00a0years of experience\u00a0and data demonstrate that a\u00a0great site manager\u00a0makes a very positive impact on\u00a0quality\u00a0standards.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe wish\u00a0our very first\u00a0apprentices\u00a0the very best of luck\u00a0and look forward to seeing their progress\u00a0over the coming months.<\/p>\n

“I hope to see their names up in lights at our Pride in the Job awards one day!\u201d<\/p>\n

From today,\u00a0NHBC\u00a0is\u00a0accepting\u00a0expressions of interest\u00a0from\u00a0its next\u00a0CCS apprentices<\/a> who wish to join 2021 cohorts.<\/p>\n

Later next year, the company will launch\u00a0a second apprenticeship\u00a0in\u00a0bricklaying.<\/p>\n
