{"id":83110,"date":"2020-09-29T07:30:21","date_gmt":"2020-09-29T06:30:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=83110"},"modified":"2020-09-29T09:17:11","modified_gmt":"2020-09-29T08:17:11","slug":"highways-england-passport-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/health-safety-news\/highways-england-passport-scheme\/83110\/","title":{"rendered":"Passport Scheme boosts safety across Highways England sites"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Nearly 600 companies have already signed up for the Passport Scheme which delivers a more efficient and consistent approach to safety and training across all sites<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/highwaysengland.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Highways England<\/a> is encouraging more to sign up, especially those in the lower tiers of the supply chain.<\/p>\n<h3>Highways Common Induction<\/h3>\n<p>The improved &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.citb.co.uk\/standards-and-delivering-training\/training-standards\/short-training-standards-search\/road-building-repair\/highways-england-common-induction-course\/#:~:text=The%20aim%20of%20this%20standard,Strategic%20Road%20Netword%20(SRN).\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Highways Common Induction<\/a>&#8216; is now being developed online and covers the common risks faced when working on Highways England sites in just over 1.5 hours.<\/p>\n<p>This means those who have registered and done the training only need to focus on site-specific safety briefings when they visit site and last for three years.<\/p>\n<p>Alongside this training, a passport &#8216;smartcard&#8217;
