to support research into nuclear fusion and related technologies<\/h2>\n<p>Under the Engineering, Design and Build Framework for Electrical Assemblies, Jacobs will support UKAEA\u2019s research and development work in the Remote Applications in Challenging Environments (RACE) facility at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.culham.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Culham Science Centre<\/a> in Oxfordshire, England.<\/p>\n<p>Work will include engineering design and installation of control panels, safety interlock panels, and wiring looms for a control cubicle to support the testing of a new range of actuators being developed by UKAEA.<\/p>\n<p>UKAEA is working to turn the process that powers the sun into carbon-free, safe and abundant electricity for a cleaner planet.<\/p>\n<p>Replicating the nuclear reaction that powers the sun could <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/om-building-for-nng-wind-farm\/82263\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">provide low-carbon electricity<\/a> for millennia to come.<\/p>\n<p>Jacobs was also awarded a contract under the UKAEA\u2019s Engineering Design Services\u00a0Framework\u00a0to provide technical and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/energy-news\/moltex-jacobs-sable-salt-reactor\/80577\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">specialist nuclear services<\/a> across a broad portfolio of fusion-related programs.<\/p>\n<h3>Designing components for nuclear fusion research<\/h3>\n<p>Jacobs critical mission solutions international senior vice president, Clive White, said: \u201cWe\u2019re combining our extensive experience of designing components for nuclear fusion research with our technical capability to turn those designs into the finished article, leveraging our in-house manufacturing facilities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis strong linkage between design and project execution improves project outcomes for our clients.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>UKAEA head of procurement, Paula Barham, said: \u201cThese frameworks bring exciting opportunities for UKAEA to work collaboratively with the supply chain and maximize the
