approved <a href=\"https:\/\/www.falkirk.gov.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Falkirk Council<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>The new Falkirk headquarters will be in the town centre and will provide 130 workstations plus touchdown space.<\/p>\n<p>The total cost of the project will be an estimated \u00a343.5m within the agreed limit of \u00a345m.<\/p>\n<h3>The new centre will also include:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Elected members accommodation<\/li>\n<li>550 seat theatre and associated studio space<\/li>\n<li>Accommodate Falkirk library, central advice hub and shared cafeteria.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Two other spaces will be upgraded to provide office accommodation at Block 4, Central Business Park, Larbert (the former Thomas Cook building).<\/p>\n<p>This will contain 280 workspaces plus touchdown space as well as accommodate an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/bim-news\/data-transformation\/80944\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">IT data centre<\/a>, a resilience and out-of-hours hub and training facilities.<\/p>\n<p>It has also been agreed to use the West Stand\/First floor, Falkirk Community Stadium offering around 210 workspaces plus touchdown space with expected entry date 2022\/23.<\/p>\n<h3>Savings through relocation<\/h3>\n<p>Councillor Cecil Meiklejohn, leader of Falkirk Council said: \u201cThis is about an opportunity to revitalise, rejuvenate and repurpose <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/housing-investment-falkirk\/51645\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Falkirk\u2019s town<\/a> centre.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It will allow us to transform and enhance the town and boost our local economy across the area.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe new building will provide a central location for arts and community activities as well as some of our frontline services.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In addition, we would relocate the library to this venue and provide a modern and sustainable location that will boost numbers in the town centre.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe current HQ is at the end of its life and is entirely uneconomic to repair, with annual running costs measured in hundreds of thousands of pounds.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCreating <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/generation-office-design\/58339\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">modern office space<\/a> in Central Business Park and the Falkirk Stadium will be relatively easy, with both locations providing employees with space to collaborate and work in new ways while they find a balance between home and office working that meets their needs and those of their role, once restrictions ease.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meiklejohn added: \u201cWe are transforming how we do things as a council and by closing inefficient large buildings, we can make vast savings through relocation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur next priority is to work with developers and local landowners to see
