Guilds<\/a> have been awarded the contract to deliver three engineering and manufacturing T Levels<\/h2>\n<p>The introduction of T levels forms a major shift in the provision of technical education for students post 16 in England, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/hr-skills-news\/construction-t-level-qualifications\/64087\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">offering an alternative to A Levels<\/a> and apprenticeships.<\/p>\n<p>Engineering has formed a core part of the City &amp; Guilds offer over the past 140 years leaving the business ideally placed to play a bigger role in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/hr-skills-news\/employment-skills-hs2-funds\/83398\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">creating the skills the UK<\/a> economy needs to prosper in the future.<\/p>\n<p>Aimed primarily at 16-18-year-old learners, the new qualifications are designed to offer a path for learners wishing to enter skilled professions.<\/p>\n<h3>T Levels include:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Engineering and Manufacturing: Manufacturing, Processing and Control<\/li>\n<li>Engineering and Manufacturing: Maintenance, Installation and Repair<\/li>\n<li>Engineering and Manufacturing: Design and Development.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition, City &amp; Guilds has also been awarded the contract to deliver a T Level in Business and Administration: Management and Administration.<\/p>\n<p>The four T Level qualifications will form part of the third wave of T Levels, which go live in 2022.<\/p>\n<h3>Industry experience<\/h3>\n<p>The business will be able to offer young people an opportunity to gain hands-on experience and important theoretical knowledge of how businesses operate, and how they can have a meaningful impact when they enter the workforce.<\/p>\n<p>All <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/hr-skills-news\/construction-t-levels\/58702\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">T Level courses<\/a> \u2013 which will provide learners with the equivalent of 3 A-Levels \u2013 have been developed in collaboration with employers and businesses to ensure they meet the needs of the industry and prepare learners for the workplace.<\/p>\n<p>The first T Levels were made available to students from September 2020.<\/p>\n<h3>Understanding and expertise in the engineering sector<\/h3>\n<p>David Phillips, managing director, City &amp;
