{"id":83570,"date":"2020-10-07T11:17:46","date_gmt":"2020-10-07T10:17:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=83570"},"modified":"2020-10-07T11:17:46","modified_gmt":"2020-10-07T10:17:46","slug":"interserve-learning-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/hr-skills-news\/interserve-learning-service\/83570\/","title":{"rendered":"Interserve sells learning and employment service"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.endlessllp.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Enact<\/a> has acquired Interserve&#8217;s learning and employment (ILE) service, complete with the current management team<\/h2>\n<p>ILE is the sixth-largest apprenticeship provider in the UK supporting over 7,000 learners across a number of sectors including childcare, health and social care, transport and business skills.<\/p>\n<p>The business, headquartered in Sheffield and employing over 300 people, provides <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/hr-skills-news\/engineering-t-levels\/83517\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">learning, education and employment services<\/a> through apprenticeships and adult education services to support businesses across the country to inspire and develop talent.<\/p>\n<p>ILE has been supporting people fulfil their potential and helping businesses to grow by upskilling the workforce for over 34 years.<\/p>\n<p>The investment by Enact is the fifth acquisition made from the \u00a330m dedicated SME fundraised in May 2019.<\/p>\n<h3>A positive contribution to the economy<\/h3>\n<p>Chris Cormack, partner leading the Enact fund, said: \u201cWe are delighted to have completed this transaction, backing the management team in acquiring ILE.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe acquisition of this Yorkshire headquartered business enables the continued delivery of high-quality learning to apprentices across the UK and will have a significant role to support people and businesses in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/hr-skills-news\/education-and-training-post-covid\/82150\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">post-Covid economy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will look to build on the reputation of quality the business has at the heart of its operations with the aim of inspiring both apprentices to start working life and adults looking to further their career with new skills.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis transaction also demonstrates the commitment of Enact, in an environment of great uncertainty created by the coronavirus pandemic, to provide continued <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/covid-19-economy-recovery\/76193\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">investment to SMEs<\/a> that have relevant and sustainable business models but do not fit the investment criteria of traditional private equity or sources of funding.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gregg Scott, managing director of ILE, added: \u201cWe have worked hard over the past months to continue to deliver training courses to our learners throughout the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are proud to work with a diverse range of employers every day from telecommunications giants to independent hairdressing salons to transport businesses and every type of company in between, helping them make a positive contribution to society and the economy.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"mk-custom-module-container\">\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Enact has acquired the Interserve Learning &#038;
