{"id":83915,"date":"2020-10-14T12:24:04","date_gmt":"2020-10-14T11:24:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=83915"},"modified":"2020-10-14T12:24:04","modified_gmt":"2020-10-14T11:24:04","slug":"robotics-innovation-centre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/robotics-innovation-centre\/83915\/","title":{"rendered":"Morgan Sindall to deliver new robotics innovation centre"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salford.ac.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">University of Salford<\/a> has appointed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.morgansindall.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Morgan Sindall<\/a> as the preferred bidder to build the North of England Robotics Innovation Centre<\/h2>\n<p>The Robotics Innovation Centre will enable the university\u2019s robotics and automation specialists to expand their work with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/construction-industry-smes\/79575\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SMEs around the country<\/a> to provide solution development, design, testing and validation of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/digital-innovation-hub-barnsley\/81127\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">digital innovation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The new centre is part of the \u00a32.5bn Crescent masterplan, a 240-acre major regeneration scheme being delivered by the University, Salford City Council and development partner, <a href=\"https:\/\/englishcitiesfund.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The English Cities Fund<\/a> \u2013 a strategic joint venture between <a href=\"https:\/\/www.musedevelopments.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Muse Developments<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legalandgeneral.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Legal &amp; General<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/organisations\/homes-england\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Homes England<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It was announced earlier this year that the \u00a313m North of England Robotics Innovation Centre will be part-funded by the <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/regional_policy\/en\/funding\/erdf\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">European Regional Development Fund<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The project will deliver a new gateway building to the Innovation District and provides the University with a new and significant presence facing on to Frederick Road.
