commenced construction on a new \u00a370m, 280 apartment residential scheme at MediaCityUK<\/h2>\n<p>Contractor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bandk.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bowmer + Kirkland<\/a> has been appointed to deliver the 231,000 sq ft Sheppard Robson designed building ranging in height from 14 to 17 storeys.<\/p>\n<p>The scheme received detailed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/river-irwell-development\/76223\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">planning consent<\/a> in February this year and will provide 132 one-bedroom, 136 two-bedroom and 12 three-bedroom apartments.<\/p>\n<p>Demonstrating its commitment to delivering varied ownership opportunities, alongside 180 apartments for private sale, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimerhomes.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Latimer<\/a> will be offering 100 homes for sale on a shared ownership basis.<\/p>\n<h3>Building affordable homes and supporting communities<\/h3>\n<p>Ian Sherry, director, Glenbrook, said: \u201cAfter acquiring the site in March this year, the construction contract was fully procured during lockdown.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is reflective of how well the key partners and project team have worked together to get this scheme to site and for us to start our first development with Latimer on such a positive footing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Richard Cook, group director of development for Latimer, said:\u00a0&#8220;These new homes are exceptionally located in the very heart of the action at MediaCityUK, an iconic setting that offers unbeatable work and leisure opportunities for its residents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re also pleased to be offering 100 homes through shared ownership, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/development-mediacityuk\/68095\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">making this unique development<\/a> more accessible through significantly lower deposits when purchasing a share of the property.\u00a0Over time, buyers can increase their share of the property if they choose to until they own it
