permission for SG1, the regeneration of Stevenage town centre<\/h2>\n<p>The Stevenage town regeneration will offer 1,864 new homes across 14.5 acres of public land, improving connectivity and links to central London, and creating new spaces for local businesses to grow.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/stevenage-town-centre-regeneration\/69609\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The regeneration<\/a> will deliver an integrated public services hub comprising new state-of-the-art health facilities, library, retail and workspaces, offering people and businesses new opportunities to thrive.<\/p>\n<h3>Sustainability is at the heart of the design<\/h3>\n<p>New green spaces and tree planting are a central theme for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/mace-sign-for-regeneration-development-in-stevenage-town-centre\/54014\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">masterplan proposals<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Mace will increase biodiversity and new planting in an attractive new Garden Square adjacent to the hub and the historic town square.<\/p>\n<p>With a focus on inclusivity and wellbeing, SG1 will also create attractive new streets, squares and public realm, improving pedestrian and cycle connections across the town.<\/p>\n<p>Subject to the outcome of a review by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/organisations\/ministry-of-housing-communities-and-local-government\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government<\/a>, construction on SG1 will now be scheduled to begin in the coming months.<\/p>\n<p>Work is already underway in the town, where Mace is managing the improvements to the town square, bringing new places to eat and drink, flexible workspaces and conference facilities.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-84227 aligncenter\"
