{"id":84642,"date":"2020-10-30T08:28:04","date_gmt":"2020-10-30T08:28:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=84642"},"modified":"2020-10-30T08:28:04","modified_gmt":"2020-10-30T08:28:04","slug":"living-space-oxfordshire-affordable-homes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/living-space-oxfordshire-affordable-homes\/84642\/","title":{"rendered":"Living Space Housing\u00a0to deliver affordable homes\u00a0in Oxfordshire"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.livingspacehousing.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Living Space Housing<\/a> and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.paradigmhousing.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Paradigm Housing<\/a> have secured a 3.5-acre site off to deliver 40 new affordable homes on Oak Farm Drive in the Oxfordshire village of Milcombe<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cherwell.gov.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cherwell District Council<\/a> has already awarded planning for the affordable housing scheme, which has a development value in excess of \u00a39m.<\/p>\n<p>All 40 homes will be delivered for affordable rent or shared ownership.<\/p>\n<p>Construction work will commence next month, with the first homes scheduled to be available for occupation before the end of 2021. A proportion of the homes will be constructed to meet Lifetime Home Standards.<\/p>\n<p>Living Space and Paradigm have collaborated to ensure the scheme works towards the Government\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/consultations\/the-future-homes-standard-changes-to-part-l-and-part-f-of-the-building-regulations-for-new-dwellings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Future Homes Standard<\/a> to lower carbon emissions. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/energy-news\/energy-centre-heat-homes\/72831\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Air Source Heat Pumps<\/a> will be installed at all 40 new homes to provide the future residents with sustainable, cost-saving heating technology.<\/p>\n<p>Living Space takes care of land, planning, design, build and development. It can also assist RPs by delivering open market homes in order to help with a scheme\u2019s viability.<\/p>\n<p>This enables Living Space\u2019s clients to be able to focus on the funding and management of high-quality homes for their residents.<\/p>\n<p>Living Space has appointed <a href=\"http:\/\/www.betts-associates.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Betts Associates<\/a> as the engineering consultant, while Birmingham-based <a href=\"https:\/\/www.umaa-a.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">UMAA Architecture<\/a> is producing working drawings for the scheme. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arcadis.com\/en\/global\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Arcadis<\/a> has been appointed as the employer agent.<\/p>\n<h3>New homes in areas that lack affordable housing<\/h3>\n<p>Steve Davies, managing director of Living Space Housing, said: \u201cThis is our first development in Oxfordshire, our first collaboration with Paradigm Housing, and the first scheme where we\u2019ve taken the proactive decision to introduce Air Source Heat Pumps, so we are especially pleased to announce this key addition to our rapidly growing
