HS2 Ltd\u2019s<\/a> third annual \u2018meet the contractor\u2019 event takes place between 23-26 November and for the first time ever will be an entirely online<\/h2>\n

As part of the event 1,100 15-minute, one-to-one meetings will be available, for potential suppliers to discuss upcoming contract opportunities<\/a> with the companies awarding them.<\/p>\n

Construction of phase one of Britain\u2019s new high-speed railway<\/a> between the West Midlands and London was officially started by the Prime Minister in September.<\/p>\n

Extending over 140 miles, the line will include over 50 viaducts, 110 embankments, 150 bridges and 32 miles of tunnels; billions of pounds worth of contracts<\/p>\n

HS2 will support over 30,000 jobs<\/a> with many thousands more throughout the supply chain.<\/p>\n

Over the next two years there will be contracts requiring many different disciplines from water and drainage systems to habitat creation and site catering as well as traditional construction and engineering contracts<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In total it is estimated that there will be over 400,000 contract opportunities throughout the HS2 supply chain, including many thousands of opportunities to deliver goods, works and services to contractors on-site.<\/p>\n

The four-day event will begin with three days of webinar sessions including updates on the HS2 programme, presentations by HS2 contractors and webinars showcasing great work taking place across the project.<\/p>\n

Registration<\/h3>\n

Registration for the event is now open with the window for companies interested in a one-to-one meeting with HS2\u2019s suppliers open until 23.50 on\u00a0Wednesday 4\u00a0November.<\/p>\n

There will be opportunities throughout the four-day event for companies to hear from HS2 and our contractors and interested parties should register here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A cornerstone for the country\u2019s recovery<\/h3>\n

Mark Thurston, CEO of HS2 Ltd, said: \u201cThis year\u2019s \u2018Meet the Contractor\u2019 event at HS2 will be the biggest ever and we would like to see businesses from across the UK register for the opportunity to talk with our contractors.<\/p>\n

\u201cExperience from previous years shows that this helps put them in the best position to be a part of building Britain\u2019s new high-speed railway.<\/p>\n

\u201cHS2 will be one of the cornerstones of the country\u2019s economic recovery as we work through the challenges of Covid-19, creating and sustaining long term jobs across all sectors.\u201d<\/p>\n
