{"id":84917,"date":"2020-11-05T09:07:32","date_gmt":"2020-11-05T09:07:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=84917"},"modified":"2020-11-05T09:07:32","modified_gmt":"2020-11-05T09:07:32","slug":"work-underway-victoria-riverside","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/work-underway-victoria-riverside\/84917\/","title":{"rendered":"Work underway on Victoria Riverside residential development"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Developer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jmconstructionleeds.co.uk\/\">JM Construction<\/a> has started work on the next phase of its \u00a350m Victoria Riverside residential development in Hunslet<\/h2>\n<p>In total the full scheme will extend to 356 units across seven individual mills offering a mix of one, two and three-bedroom apartments, including spectacular rooftop penthouses.<\/p>\n<p>The latest stage of construction will create 95 apartments over two mills, comprising <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/rlb-new-build-housing\/66657\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">both new build<\/a>\u00a0and the sympathetic conversion of part of the former grade II and grade II* listed Hunslet and Victoria flax spinning mills.<\/p>\n<p>Interest in the scheme which forms part of the wider regeneration of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leeds.gov.uk\/docs\/Ward%20maps\/Ward_Hunslet%20and%20Riverside.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Hunslet Riverside<\/a> area has been exceptional with JM Construction recently reporting that all 160 apartments in the four completed mills have been sold.<\/p>\n<p>Work on this phase is expected to be completed in November 2021.<\/p>\n<h3>New life for Hunslet<\/h3>\n<p>John Mulleady, managing director of JM Construction, said: \u201cSales to date have been exceptional and we look forward to bringing mills e and f to market.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are privileged to have the opportunity to breathe new life into the site and refurbish the derelict mill buildings which were on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/scottish-smes-demolition-framework\/80563\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">brink of demolition<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They form part of the rich history of the city when it was once a world leader in textile manufacturing and through our sympathetic conversion will be enjoyed by future generations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Neil Dickens, regional managing director \u2013 North of LSL Land &amp;
