{"id":85004,"date":"2020-11-06T11:12:42","date_gmt":"2020-11-06T11:12:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=85004"},"modified":"2020-11-06T11:12:42","modified_gmt":"2020-11-06T11:12:42","slug":"students-urge-the-government","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/hr-skills-news\/students-urge-the-government\/85004\/","title":{"rendered":"Engineering students urge the government to &#8216;give us a future&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Students from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eastcoast.ac.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">East Coast College<\/a> in Lowestoft have written to senior figures within the government including local MP Therese Coffey urging them to back Sizewell C<\/h2>\n<p>The Lowestoft engineering students called upon the government to \u2018give us a future\u2019 in a letter to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/people\/alok-sharma\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Alok Sharma<\/a>, Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/people\/gillian-keegan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Gillian Keegan<\/a>, Minister for Apprenticeships and Skills and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/people\/therese-coffey\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Th\u00e9r\u00e8se Coffey<\/a>, who as well as representing the Suffolk Coastal constituency is also Secretary of State for Work and Pensions.<\/p>\n<p>The letter highlighted the potential for Sizewell C to create thousands of high skilled jobs in Suffolk.
