Kier<\/a> has appointed Chris Stevens as managing director for Midlands and performance excellence in its construction business<\/h2>\n

Chris Stevens is a chartered civil engineer<\/a> and joins Kier from his role as board director and managing director at Bouygues UK.<\/p>\n

Stevens started his career in construction at Sir Robert McAlpine in 2001 before joining Warings, which was acquired by Bouygues in 2007. He brings to Kier extensive leadership in operational delivery, having successfully led regional businesses and major projects across health, schools, residential and commercial sectors.<\/p>\n

Stevens will join Kier in January 2021 and will head up its new Midlands region, which encompasses Birmingham, Staffordshire, Shropshire, Worcestershire, and Warwickshire and has been created to grow operations in the region.<\/p>\n

\u2018Bring new levels of certainty to project delivery\u2019<\/h3>\n

Liam Cummins, group managing director of Kier Construction, said: \u201cI am delighted to welcome Chris to Kier.<\/p>\n

“We continue to attract great talent and Chris\u2019 appointment follows on from our recently announced appointment of Helen Samuels<\/a> who will join us as our technical director in January.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am looking forward to working with Chris, who will play an important role as part of our senior leadership team.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis new role will accelerate the implementation of our Construction strategy with a specific focus on growing our business in the Midlands as well as implementing our Performance Excellence agenda, which underpins our successful operational delivery to clients and partners.<\/p>\n

\u201cChris will be working with our operational leadership across the business to embed our Performance Excellence framework to bring new levels of certainty to our project delivery.\u201d<\/p>\n
