begins for contractors to deliver factory-built homes in Oxfordshire"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Oxford City Housing Ltd (OCHL) is on the hunt for development contractors to deliver 2,500 factory-built low carbon homes in Oxfordshire<\/h2>\n<p>Oxford City Housing Ltd (OCHL) is looking for high quality, sustainable contractors interested in helping it to deliver more than 2,500 low carbon homes across Oxfordshire in the next 10 years.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.oxford.gov.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Oxford City Council\u2019s<\/a> housing company has issued a prior information notice inviting developers to a \u2018meet the buyer\u2019 event on 15 December.<\/p>\n<p>OCHL is starting the process of establishing a \u00a3750m <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/modular-construction-news\/modular-construction\/79510\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">modular construction<\/a> framework for new housing schemes.<\/p>\n<p>OCHL aims to acquire and develop 2,245 new homes on sites across Oxfordshire in the next 10 years, with 1,124 of these being homes for social rent and a further 301 shared ownership and other intermediate tenures.<\/p>\n<p>The council and housing company aim to open up the new framework to other social landlords and deliver more than 2,500 homes in total.<\/p>\n<p>OCHL and the council are currently looking at four options for delivering sustainable homes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A 40% carbon reduction from 2013 building regulations<\/li>\n<li>A 70% carbon reduction from 2013 building regulations<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/energy-news\/passivhaus-case-study\/51206\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Passivhaus<\/a> equivalent standard<\/li>\n<li>Zero carbon for regulated and unregulated energy, with a preference for low embodied energy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>\u2018Offsite with good economies of scale\u2019<\/h3>\n<p>Councillor Alex Hollingsworth, cabinet member for planning and housing delivery, said: \u201cOxfordshire needs high quality, low carbon homes and we\u2019re interested in working with contractors that can<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/modular-construction-news\/offsite-construction-landscape\/80122\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> manufacture offsite<\/a> with good economies of scale.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you\u2019re a builder who wants to know how we intend to deliver more than 2,500 new homes in the next decade and are interested in being
