London mayor Sadiq Khan has partnered with Catalyst Housing<\/a> to build more than 900 new homes on St Ann\u2019s Hospital site in Tottenham<\/h2>\n

Catalyst\u2019s plans for the St Ann\u2019s site include building 934 homes, of which 50 of these will be affordable homes<\/a> set aside for community-led housing.<\/p>\n

The remaining affordable homes will be 60% London Affordable Rent, 20% London Shared Ownership and 20% London Living Rent.<\/p>\n

Catalyst will offer Haringey Council<\/a> the opportunity of purchasing half of the homes at London affordable rent for their housing portfolio.<\/p>\n

There will be key worker housing<\/a> for NHS staff, with the Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health Trust able to make use of 22 London living rent homes for 10\u00a0years to ensure staff can be housed locally.<\/p>\n

The new St Ann\u2019s homes \u2013 ranging from family townhouses to apartment blocks \u2013 will be designed to the highest standards by Karakusevic Carson Architects<\/a> and 6a architects<\/a>.<\/p>\n

All homes will meet or exceed London Housing Design Guide<\/a> space standards and will be sustainable and energy efficient, with the highest levels of building safety, including sprinklers in all flats.<\/p>\n

Greenspace will be central to the development. The scheme includes 10,000m2<\/sup> of new and existing tree cover, and the existing Peace Garden is being tripled in size. New playground space will also be created.<\/p>\n

Heritage assets, including St Ann\u2019s Victorian water tower, will be preserved.<\/p>\n

There will also be improvements to pedestrian and cycling infrastructure along St Ann\u2019s Road to improve access across the site, including to Chestnuts Park.<\/p>\n

\u2018Hundreds of genuinely affordable homes\u2019<\/h3>\n

The mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, said:\u00a0\u201cI\u2019m pleased to be partnering with Catalyst to develop this exciting project which will bring\u00a0hundreds of genuinely affordable homes to this important site.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy team and Catalyst are already working closely with the local community to ensure their needs are put at the heart of our plans for St Ann\u2019s.<\/p>\n

\u201cI look forward to following the site\u2019s progress and showing what can be done when the public sector takes a clear lead on redevelopment and builds the high-quality homes Londoners deserve.\u201d<\/p>\n

Levent Kerimol from Community Led Housing London, added:\u00a0<\/strong>\u201cThe plans for the St Ann\u2019s site are very exciting, not least because they allow community-led housing<\/a> to become a more consistent part of a diverse London housing landscape.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe look forward to supporting community-led housing groups to make the most of this opportunity to empower future residents and local people in taking collective control of their housing.\u201d<\/p>\n

A search for the community organisation to take on these homes will be launched early in the new year.<\/p>\n
