{"id":86748,"date":"2020-12-18T08:44:51","date_gmt":"2020-12-18T08:44:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=86748"},"modified":"2020-12-18T08:44:51","modified_gmt":"2020-12-18T08:44:51","slug":"deliver-245-homes-greenwich","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/deliver-245-homes-greenwich\/86748\/","title":{"rendered":"JJ Rhatigan to deliver 245 homes in Greenwich"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/hubgroup.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">HUB<\/a> has awarded <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jjrhatigan.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">JJ Rhatigan<\/a> a \u00a353m construction contract to deliver Abbey Place, a development of 245 homes in Abbey Wood, South East London<\/h2>\n<p>Designed by architects <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shedkm.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">shedkm<\/a>, the 13- and 21-storey residential towers will form a landmark mixed-use development on a key site adjacent to the new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crossrail.co.uk\/route\/stations\/abbey-wood-station\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Abbey Wood Crossrail station<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The scheme will provide 72% <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/affordable-homes-in-croydon\/78107\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">affordable homes<\/a>, as well as three commercial units, a new public square and improvements to the public realm.<\/p>\n<p>HUB acquired the site in partnership with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bridgesfundmanagement.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bridges Fund Management<\/a> in 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Abbey Place will improve the arrival experience to the new station and set a new benchmark for development quality in the area.<\/p>\n<p>Abbey Place was granted full planning permission in September 2018. HUB has secured a forward funding deal with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbre.co.uk\/services\/industries-and-specialties\/affordable-housing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CBRE UK Affordable Housing Fund<\/a> (AHF), a fund managed by CBRE Global Investors, to deliver the scheme.<\/p>\n<h3>Prioritising people and ensuring value<\/h3>\n<p>Damien Sharkey, managing director at HUB, said: \u201cHUB has a track record of working closely with local communities to deliver architecturally- superb schemes that everyone can be proud of and we hope that Abbey Place will be the heart of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/gascoigne-estate-green-light\/67384\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">thriving community<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tom Neylon, regional director at JJ Rhatigan, said: \u201cWe are delighted to have been selected by HUB to deliver this superb project in Abbey Wood.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;JJ Rhatigan have been operating for nearly 70 years with a successful track record in construction.
