Modular housing company ilke Homes<\/a> has agreed a deal with Midlands\u2019 landlord whg<\/a> to deliver 43 modular homes in Warwickshire<\/h2>\n

The 100% affordable housing<\/a> scheme will see ilke Homes provide the land for development in addition to manufacturing the 43 brand-new modular homes for whg.<\/p>\n

ilke Homes secured the site from a private landowner and will \u2013 subject to planning \u2013 develop the site for 43 modular homes.<\/p>\n

The homes will be manufactured at ilke Homes\u2019 250,000 sq ft factory in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, before being completed on the site in Southam.<\/p>\n

The four-acre brownfield site already has outline planning permission and was previously allocated as part of the adopted core strategy for Southam.<\/p>\n

All the homes will be equipped with fully-fitted kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms \u2013 underpinned with accreditations from NHBC<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Scale-up the delivery of affordable homes<\/h3>\n

Tom Heathcote, executive director of development at ilke Homes, said: \u201cWe\u2019re delighted to have secured another deal working with Savills<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThanks to our modular technology, we will deliver up to 43 high-quality homes for the local Southam community which will be some of the most sustainable in the UK.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy packaging up private land with turnkey development solutions in partnership with housing associations such as whg, we can quickly scale-up the delivery of high-quality, energy-efficient affordable housing across the country.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rebecca Bennett Casserly, corporate director of development at whg, commented: \u201cWe are delighted to have completed the purchase of this site, facilitated by ilke\u2019s new business model.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis will not only support the delivery of affordable housing in an area of great need but also help us deliver on our ambitions for the wider adoption of modern methods of construction<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have been researching modular homes for some time and are looking forward to working with ilke Homes as we venture into our first scheme of scale.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis exciting new development will deliver homes quickly and more efficiently; significantly contributing to our annual target of building more than 500 high quality and affordable homes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chris Torbett, associate director at Savills, added: \u201cWe are delighted to have agreed this deal that will deliver much needed, sustainable and affordable homes in Southam.<\/p>\n

ilke Homes intends to make a reserved matters planning application immediately in order to secure a start on site in the latter part of Summer 2021.<\/p>\n
