{"id":86962,"date":"2021-01-06T10:53:21","date_gmt":"2021-01-06T10:53:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=86962"},"modified":"2021-01-06T10:53:21","modified_gmt":"2021-01-06T10:53:21","slug":"secondary-glazing-an-office","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/building-control-news\/secondary-glazing-an-office\/86962\/","title":{"rendered":"No horsing around when it comes to secondary glazing an office"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/rodneymelvilleandpartners.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Rodney Melville and Partners<\/a> appointed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.selectaglaze.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Selectaglaze<\/a>\u00a0to install secondary glazing at the Grade I Listed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.selectaglaze.co.uk\/case-studies\/office\/belton-house-grade-i-listed-?utm_source=january&amp;utm_medium=online_pr&amp;utm_campaign=belton_stables\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Belton House stable block<\/a> in Grantham, Lincolnshire<\/h2>\n<p>Rodney Melville and Partners contacted <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/stakeholders\/selectaglaze-secondary-window-systems\/49848\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Selectaglaze<\/a>\u00a0to boost the competence of\u00a0the original windows,\u00a0which although were extensively repaired\u00a0were still\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.selectaglaze.co.uk\/benefits\/thermal-uvalue-secondary-glazing?utm_source=january&amp;utm_medium=online_pr&amp;utm_campaign=thermal%20insulation%20secondary%20glazing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">thermally inefficient<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The plan was to restore the building sympathetically to include a new caf\u00e9 with increased capacity, function space and much-needed office and meeting rooms on the upper floors for the staff at Belton.<\/p>\n<p>Selectaglaze\u00a0Series 10 horizontal sliders were installed into the reveals of 24\u00a0of the original leaded windows in the offices, and meeting rooms.<\/p>\n<p>Three units were\u00a0specifically glazed\u00a0with\u00a0satinovo\u00a0glass,\u00a0to improve privacy controls in the toilets.\u00a0Bespoke timber grounds were attached to\u00a0all\u00a0the openings which were\u00a0splayed\u00a0or out of shape.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to the secondary glazing,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/building-control-news\/selectaglaze-london-office\/84836\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">thermal efficiency has improved considerably<\/a>, with the added benefit of increased <a href=\"https:\/\/www.selectaglaze.co.uk\/benefits\/window-noise-insulation?utm_source=january&amp;utm_medium=online_pr&amp;utm_campaign=noise%20insulation%20secondary%20glazing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">acoustic insulation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A quirky original feature in one of the offices was a drop-down door;
