competition<\/h2>\n<p>In partnership with Innovate UK, the Geospatial Commission competition looks at how <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/construction-technology-news\/location-data-competition\/84604\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">location data<\/a> can spark innovation and support the future of mobility for the UK.<\/p>\n<p>The winners have been awarded funding of up to \u00a375k across four themes \u2013 mobility as a service, active travel, supply chains and boosting capacity.<\/p>\n<p>Winners across the four themes will develop feasibility studies to help create <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/bim-news\/geospatial-agreement\/74372\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">geospatial solutions<\/a> to our transport challenges and support the future of mobility.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Mobility as a service <\/strong>\u2013 to help better integration of transport types.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Active travel <\/strong>\u2013 creating safer ways to enable active travel.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Supply chains <\/strong>\u2013 helping better distribution, storage and delivery.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Boosting capacity<\/strong>\u2013 increasing efficiency of transport networks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>\u2018Unlock \u00a32bn of economic value in our transport sector\u2019<\/h3>\n<p>Minister for the Cabinet Office, Lord True CBE, said: \u201cThese innovative location data winners will help the government unlock \u00a32bn of economic value in our transport sector to improve services, enabling the efficient delivery of new networks and transport corridors connecting people to the jobs they need, the goods and services they want, and the places they want to go.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Transport minister Rachel Maclean, commented: \u201cFrom creating safer ways for people to travel, to improving our supply chains and delivery, data is key for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/construction-technology-news\/transport-infrastructure-innovation\/85649\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">innovation in transport<\/a> to prosper.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m excited to see how the winners of this competition can change how we travel in the future, making our journeys easier, cleaner and more efficient.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/organisations\/innovate-uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Innovate UK\u2019s<\/a> deputy executive chair and chief business officer, Simon href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/bim-news\/accessible-geospatial-data\/57989\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">geospatial technologies<\/a> to solve transport challenges and we are utilising the proven Small Business Research Initiative process to bring together challenge owners and innovators to deliver novel solutions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe had a very high response to the competition which was staggering and demonstrates the appetite for innovation in this area.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>The 28 winners inlcude:<\/h3>\n<h4>Mobility as a service<\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.slingshotsimulations.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Slingshot Simulations Limited<\/a> \u2013 Digital twin platform to auto-generate 3D models of Yorkshire and surrounding areas including transport within seconds.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cityscience.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">City Science Corporation Limited<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 Uses new open data to progress mobility as a service to influence positive travel behaviour.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.travelai.info\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Travelai Limited<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 Digital solutions for accessibility.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.modal.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Modal Limited<\/a>\u00a0\u2013Increase the adoption of mobility as a service through real-time detection of passenger journeys, delivering new services such as automated train delay refunds<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cgasimulation.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CGA Simulation Limited<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 Scenario planning simulator to predict where infrastructure for transport will be required based on behaviour.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ricardo.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ricardo UK Limited<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 Flexible geo-fencing architecture and implementation to reduce emissions and improve air quality.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ruraltechs.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Rural Technologies Limited<\/a> \u2013 Ethical exploitation of geodata integration. It improves access to better location data services in rural areas to level up left-behind communities and enables pragmatic innovation in areas of foreseeable connectivity issues.<\/p>\n<h4>Active travel<\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ngenius.ai\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ngenius Limited<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 Convert CCTV to smart sensors to provide better data to support safer active travel.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/r4dartech.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">R4Dartech Limited<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 Low-cost radar beacon to provide localised high-resolution geospatial data enabling enhanced navigation and surveillance in unsegregated multi-modal transport environments.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.spacesyntax.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Space Syntax Limited<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 Tool to integrate local authority workflows with geo-spatial data analysis to identify priority areas and tailor specific active travel interventions.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pragmatex.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pragmatex Limited<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 Survey solution to support cycleway and footway asset management.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pelation.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pelation Limited<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 Automatically identify and analyse cycling near misses using the device\u2019s video footage and data\/Machine Learning.<\/p>\n<h4>Supply chains<\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/addresscloud.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Addresscloud Limited<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 A national suitability map of unpiloted aerial vehicles (UAV) landing sites for every address in Great Britain.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dynamon.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dynamon Limited<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 This project will develop an artificial intelligence tool to identify the optimum zero-emission vehicles to replace a fleet of traditional diesel vehicles.
