been given the go-ahead to deliver a 48-storey build-to-rent development at the site of the former Irish Centre in Deritend, following approval by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.birmingham.gov.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Birmingham City Council<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/residential-tower-birmingham\/75800\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">residential scheme<\/a>, bounded by Stone Yard, Chapel House Street and fronting the busy B4100 (High Street Deritend), will comprise 454 one and two-bed city apartments with over 10,000 sq ft of amenity space.<\/p>\n<p>The development will boast a gym, a cinema, a sky lounge and bar, as well as a flexible co-working space and cycle parking.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/upper-trinity-street-plans\/74927\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">scheme<\/a> will also provide 3% on-site affordable housing.<\/p>\n<p>In line with the city\u2019s greener aspirations and to demonstrate Court\u2019s commitment to future-proofing its developments, the development will not feature any car parking and will instead be fully accessible via the city\u2019s growing public transport network, including the latest Metro extension along the High Street.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the scheme, high-quality public realm to complement that being provided as part of the Metro extension will also be delivered.<\/p>\n<h3>Contemporary city living<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/alex-neale-a2b91054\/\">Alex Neale<\/a>, CEO at Court Collaboration, said: \u201cThis development will\u00a0provide high quality, contemporary city living in a prime location, complementing the surrounding area and numerous high-rise <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/regeneration-scheme-digbeth\/86192\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">developments coming forward in Digbeth<\/a>, including Connaught Square, Lunar Rise and our own, Stone Yard.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith a high level of ongoing investment and regeneration in this area, as well as the wider city centre, we are thrilled to have received planning permission from Birmingham City Council and look forward to starting works on-site in due course.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Construction work is expected to commence on site later this year.<\/p>\n<div
