{"id":87342,"date":"2021-01-13T10:45:17","date_gmt":"2021-01-13T10:45:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=87342"},"modified":"2021-01-13T10:45:17","modified_gmt":"2021-01-13T10:45:17","slug":"trial-5g-innovation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/digital-construction-news\/construction-technology-news\/trial-5g-innovation\/87342\/","title":{"rendered":"BAM secures Government funding to trial 5G innovation"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bamnuttall.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BAM Nuttall<\/a> has secured investment from Government which will fund 9 new projects to explore how 5G technology can support the construction industry<\/h2>\n<p>Subject to grant funding agreements and due diligence, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/organisations\/department-for-digital-culture-media-sport\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-ved=\"2ahUKEwjYho2G1pjuAhVLPcAKHe94D7IQFjAAegQIARAD\">Department for Digital, Culture, Media &amp; Sport<\/a> (DCMS) will co-fund 9 new projects (bringing the total to 15 5G create projects) from a range of sectors including: tourism, sport, logistics, transport, creative industries and construction.<\/p>\n<p>Trials will explore how <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/construction-technology-news\/5g-digital-construction\/68244\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">5G technology<\/a> can support the construction industry: testing 5G-powered cameras, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/tag\/drones\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">drones<\/a> and sensors at BAM Nuttall\u2019s construction sites in Kilsyth, Glasgow and Shetland.<\/p>\n<p>The project will be an enabler for digital solutions that improve construction productivity within BAM Nuttall and the wider UK construction industry.
