{"id":87750,"date":"2021-01-21T09:11:56","date_gmt":"2021-01-21T09:11:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=87750"},"modified":"2021-03-15T12:54:54","modified_gmt":"2021-03-15T12:54:54","slug":"mott-macdonald-hydrogen-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/energy-news\/mott-macdonald-hydrogen-project\/87750\/","title":{"rendered":"Mott MacDonald appointed to Europe\u2019s largest hydrogen project"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mottmac.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mott MacDonald<\/a> has been appointed by the NortH2 Consortium as its technical integration and optimisation contractor for the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.north2.eu\/en\/news\/north2-welcomes-new-international-partners-rwe-and-equinor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NortH2 project<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>The NorH2 project is a global flagship project for large scale <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/energy-news\/hydrogen-heating-network\/85953\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">green hydrogen production<\/a> and the largest hydrogen project in Europe.<\/p>\n<p>NortH2 wants to play a major role in achieving the European, Dutch and German climate goals and accelerating the development of an international hydrogen market. The project aims to achieve this through large-scale production, storage and transport of green hydrogen to industrial sectors that are difficult or unable to electrify.<\/p>\n<p>New <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/energy-news\/offshore-wind-energy-market\/67942\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">offshore wind farms<\/a> would generate the green power and could gradually grow in capacity from 1 GW in 2027, to 4 GW by 2030, to more than 10 GW in 2040. These wind farms would be additional to the already planned wind farms for the renewable electricity supply.<\/p>\n<p>They would be directly linked to the hydrogen plant and all power would be used for the production of green hydrogen.
