{"id":88214,"date":"2021-01-28T11:27:53","date_gmt":"2021-01-28T11:27:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=88214"},"modified":"2021-01-28T11:27:53","modified_gmt":"2021-01-28T11:27:53","slug":"academic-engineering-card","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/hr-skills-news\/academic-engineering-card\/88214\/","title":{"rendered":"SKILLcard launches new academic engineering card"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>One of the construction industry\u2019s largest skills certification registers, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.skillcard.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SKILLcard<\/a>, is launching a card for engineers with degrees and other higher<span data-contrast=\"auto\">&#8211;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">level qualifications<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">SKILLcard has over 64,000 cardholders across the UK, has developed the Academically Qualified Person (AQP) card so individuals with higher-level qualifications can visit construction sites to help them gain more practical experience.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Managed by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thebesa.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Building Engineering Services Association<\/a> (BESA) and part of the\u00a0construction-wide\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/hr-skills-news\/smart-technology-cards-scheme\/86020\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CSCS scheme<\/a>, SKILLcard is used by heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration operatives to provide proof of qualifications, skills and experience.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">It already offers a Professionally Qualified Person (PQP) card, but this requires a certain level of\u00a0industry\u00a0experience. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>The new AQP card will enable graduate engineers and those holding further education qualifications such as HNDs and HNCs to provide evidence of their qualifications including the health &amp;
