Keepmoat Homes<\/a> has been given the go-ahead from East Staffordshire Borough Council<\/a>\u00a0to deliver 125 new homes in Shobnall<\/h2>\n

The 8.6-acre piece of land, now owned by Keepmoat Homes, has been purchased from Homes England<\/a>\u00a0to create 125 new homes in Shobnall, comprising of two, three, and four-bedroom\u00a0detached and semi-detached houses.<\/p>\n

\u2018A new and sustainable community\u2019<\/h3>\n

Charlotte Goode, regional managing director at Keepmoat Homes, said: \u201cWe\u2019re delighted to have secured planning consent for this\u00a0exciting\u00a0new project.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe development, which will be known as Malthouse Place, represents a \u00a324m\u00a0investment into the area and our aim is to transform the disused site into a new and sustainable community, bringing much-needed new homes to Burton.<\/p>\n

\u201cUsing modern construction methods<\/a>, the new homes will support first-time buyers with their first steps onto the property ladder, and with assistance from the government\u2019s Help to Buy Scheme they will be able to achieve their dream of owning a new home which is within close proximity to the town centre and with great public transport connections.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tara Kennedy, senior development manager at Homes England, added: \u201cDeveloping homes on brownfield land<\/a> is at the heart of our mission and we\u2019re pleased to be working with Keepmoat Homes to create a new neighbourhood in Burton upon Trent.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have a long and established relationship with the homebuilder and look forward to seeing construction commence at the development, which will bring about a range of high-quality homes that will meet the needs of the local people, from first-time buyers to those looking to upsize.\u201d<\/p>\n

Keepmoat Homes has pledged\u00a0to support the local area and help generate opportunities in training and employment through the use of subcontractors<\/a> and work placements, which will be delivered throughout the lifetime of the project.<\/p>\n

Work is due to start on the new homes in Shobnall in Spring 2021 and the development will take around two years to complete.<\/p>\n
