marking a new chapter for the Friary Park estate<\/h2>\n<p>The start on the Verdean site follows <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ealing.gov.uk\/site\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ealing Council<\/a> granting planning permission in November 2019 and a successful agreement of the Section 106 late last year.<\/p>\n<p>These are a result of the direct and ongoing collaboration between Catalyst, Mount Anvil, the current <a href=\"https:\/\/www.barnet.gov.uk\/directories\/parks\/friary-park\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Friary Park<\/a> residents and the council, which has ensured the existing community remains at the heart of the decisions.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/regeneration-and-development\/87763\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">large-scale regeneration<\/a> is set to deliver around 990 homes of which 45% will be genuinely affordable.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the new homes, new commercial space, landscaped green spaces, new children\u2019s play space and an improved community facility will also be created, all just a few minutes\u2019 walk from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crossrail.co.uk\/route\/western-section\/acton-main-line-station\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Acton Mainline Crossrail<\/a> station.<\/p>\n<h3>Geen spaces for the local community to enjoy<\/h3>\n<p>Phil Jenkins, group development director at Catalyst, said: \u201cI\u2019m delighted that our partnership team have been able to start enabling works on site and overcome the ongoing challenges brought about by the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cStarting work on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/friary-park-transformation\/68056\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">regeneration of Friary Park<\/a> marks a milestone in developing a significant number of new homes for families in Ealing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Marcus Bate, investment director at Mount Anvil, said: \u201cThis is a very exciting time for all residents and our partnership team involved in the transformation of the Friary Park estate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re taking a big step forward on the path to creating outstanding new affordable and private homes in Acton and truly sustainable green spaces for the local community to enjoy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis has all been made possible through close collaboration with the existing residents and the dedication of our construction team to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/mmc-news\/site-working-practices\/87901\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">create a safe working environment<\/a> during the pandemic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Julian Bell, leader of Ealing Council, added: \u201cI am delighted that work can begin on the regeneration of Friary Park.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis development will deliver a new neighbourhood in Acton, jobs and apprenticeships for local people during its construction and help us reach our target of delivering 2,500 genuinely affordable homes by
