Mark Castle has stepped down from his role as chief operations officer for construction at Mace<\/a>, as Andrew Jackson is appointed to the position<\/h2>\n

Mark Castle joined the company in 2004 to set up Mace Plus, its early fixed-price contracting business. He was appointed to the Mace Group board in 2013 and has played a leadership role in Mace\u2019s<\/a> construction business throughout.<\/p>\n

From 2017-2019 he also served as chair of Build UK, the industry\u2019s leading trade body. Castle will continue to support Mace going forward and will become a non-executive director to the group executive board.<\/p>\n

Andrew Jackson will be appointed as Mace\u2019s chief operating officer for construction from April 2021, reporting to Gareth Lewis, Mace\u2019s CEO for construction.<\/p>\n

Andrew Jackson is currently managing director for Mace\u2019s international technology business, delivering major projects in Europe. He joined Mace in 2015 as business unit director for the residential sector, bringing with him some 30 years\u2019 experience from the construction industry.<\/p>\n

As the chief operating officer for construction, Jackson will be responsible for continuing the transformation of how Mace delivers the built environment<\/a> for clients \u2013 from driving the adoption of a \u2018construction to production\u2019 approach to improving quality and compliance and radically reducing the carbon used in the construction process as part of Mace\u2019s commitment to being a net-zero carbon business.<\/p>\n

\u2018Take forward the construction business\u2019<\/h3>\n

Mark Reynolds, Mace\u2019s group chief executive, said: “I would like to thank Mark for the exceptional contribution to the group over the last seventeen years.<\/p>\n

\u201cDuring this time our construction business has grown to a \u00a31.7bn business; delivering some of the most iconic projects in the world \u2013 and Mark has played a key role in making that happen.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs we look towards our ambitious plans for the future \u2013 and our drive to become a more purpose-led business \u2013 our new COO for construction, Andrew Jackson will support Gareth Lewis to take forward the construction business and continue to transform and improve delivery for our clients.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mark Castle, Mace\u2019s chief operating officer for construction, added: \u00a0<\/strong>\u201cSince joining Mace in 2004, it\u2019s been a privilege to watch the construction business grow to one of the leading constructors in the UK \u2013 I have thoroughly enjoyed working with our talented teams to deliver many exciting projects; from the Tate Modern extension, New Tottenham Hotspur stadium to Chelsea Barracks and the Emirates Air Line cable car.<\/p>\n
