work starts on Nottingham build to rent project"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Blocwork LLP, a joint venture between Network Rail and Bloc Group has appointed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.graham.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Graham<\/a> as construction partner to build a Private Rented Sector (PRS) build to rent development on Queens Road, Nottingham<\/h2>\n<p>The development is being funded by the FTSE250 property business, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.graingerplc.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Grainger Plc<\/a>, the UK\u2019s largest listed provider of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/change-private-rental-sector\/55523\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">private rental homes<\/a>, and is its first PRS build to rent development in Nottingham.<\/p>\n<p>Designed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.franklinellis.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Franklin Ellis Architects<\/a>, the development has already secured planning consent for 348 homes and is located in a desirable location on Queens Road, which is near the town centre and adjacent to Nottingham railway station.<\/p>\n<p>Providing 197,250 sq ft over 10 floors, the development will comprise a mix of studio, one, two, and three-bedroom apartments, with amenity and commercial space at ground floor level.<\/p>\n<p>Graham started on site last month and construction is expected to complete April 2023.<\/p>\n<p>It will be built in just over a 2-year construction programme.<\/p>\n<h3>Working closely with the private sector<\/h3>\n<p>Ronan Hughes, regional director from Graham, said: \u201cThere\u2019s a strong market for high-quality PRS development in Nottingham and this project represents a positive step forward in the area\u2019s future development.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGrainger is universally recognised as one of the leading providers of build to rent\u00a0accommodation, so we are looking forward to working with them and the wider project team to bring this development forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stuart Kirkwood, group property director, Network Rail Property, commented: \u201cThe Nottingham development is a fantastic example of Network Rail working closely with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/private-sector-infrastructure\/82078\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">private sector to deliver<\/a> vital new homes on land no longer required by the operational railway.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe investment by Grainger points to the growing appetite in the sector for viable <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/ses-build-to-rent-leeds\/65254\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">build to rent schemes<\/a>, and we are pleased
