Keltbray<\/a> has secured a \u00a314.1m package of works to deliver 14 bridge structures on Highways England\u2019s<\/a> A30 scheme for Costain<\/a>\/Jacobs<\/a> Partnership<\/h2>\n

The A30 Chiverton to Carland Cross scheme<\/a> comprises the construction of a new 8.7-mile dual carriageway alongside the existing A30 between Chiverton Cross and Carland Cross, including the delivery of 14 bridges in a variety of structural forms.<\/p>\n

Keltbray will support the partnership in developing and delivering engineering-led structural bridge solutions, maximising the use of modularisation and modern methods of construction<\/a> to identify and construct standard bridge elements to assure greater buildability and quality within the overall schedule.<\/p>\n

\u2018Redefine the way sustainable development\u2019<\/h3>\n

Tim Bowen, managing director of strategic development at Keltbray and programme leader for the A30 contract, said: \u201cKeltbray\u2019s highly collaborative approach to design and delivery will be instrumental in upgrading one of the UK\u2019s most congested road networks.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe application of digital engineering<\/a>, modular construction and modern self-delivery methods will bring greater control to this complex scheme, while also supporting economic growth and providing significant social benefits for the local area.\u201d<\/p>\n

Darren James, chief executive officer at Keltbray, added: \u201cWe are delighted to have secured our first major contract delivering the structures on this strategically important Highways England scheme, as a trusted delivery partner to Costain\/Jacobs.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis project marks an important milestone in the delivery of our strategy to redefine the way sustainable development is delivered, where we foresee strong demand for Keltbray\u2019s integrated capabilities in adjacent infrastructure sectors like highways.\u201d<\/p>\n

The A30 scheme has a very short lead-time to commencement, with main construction works starting in early March, and expected to run until mid-2023.<\/p>\n
