in Bristol"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Bristol residents could receive financial help to have energy saving measures installed in their homes after the city was awarded nearly \u00a33m to create a local version of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/energy-news\/green-homes-grants\/80914\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Green Homes Grant<\/a> scheme<\/h2>\n<p>The \u00a32.6m boost from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/organisations\/department-for-business-energy-and-industrial-strategy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy<\/a> (BEIS) and will enable hundreds of residents to improve the energy efficiency of their homes through the new city council scheme named Bright Green Homes.<\/p>\n<p>Funding is available to residents of Bristol and North Somerset for the installation of underfloor, loft and cavity wall insulation as well as Solar PV or Solar Thermal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/energy-news\/energy-efficiency-framework-2\/85323\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">renewable technologies<\/a> that could mean up to \u00a310,000 of energy saving measures for each household, if eligible, delivered free of charge.<\/p>\n<p>The council\u2019s energy service will also work with residents to identify any other free and low-cost energy saving options to help further reduce energy bills.<\/p>\n<p>Residents from low-income households with Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) of G, F, E or D rating can apply immediately and more information on the scheme and eligibility criteria can be found on the council\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.energyservicebristol.co.uk\/funding\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Energy Service website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Available until the end of September 2021, citizens have an opportunity to register for funding before 31 July but it remains limited to around 200 homes in Bristol and residents are encouraged to apply as soon as possible to avoid missing out.<\/p>\n<h3>Improving Bristol&#8217;s carbon footprint<\/h3>\n<p>Kye Dudd, cabinet member for energy and transport, said: \u201cWe\u2019re delighted to have been successful in our application for this much-needed funding to support our efforts to reduce fuel poverty and decarbonise Bristol homes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe know that tackling household emissions will have a big part to play in our continuing journey to become <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/energy-news\/bristol-leads-carbon-neutral\/81854\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">a carbon-neutral city by 2030<\/a>, and schemes like this can have a tremendous impact for reducing household energy bills.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are also really pleased to be working with community groups like the <a href=\"https:\/\/cheeseproject.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cold Homes Energy Efficiency Survey Experts<\/a> (C.H.E.E.S.E) project to support Bright Green Homes with specialist thermal imaging technology so that we can clearly see the impact of the energy interventions that we deliver.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"mk-custom-module-container\">\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bristol residents could receive financial help to have energy saving measures installed in their homes after the city was awarded nearly \u00a33m to create a local version of the Green Homes Grant scheme.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":20,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[307],"tags":[693,664,997,430,673,283,276,714,656,586,468],"stakeholder_rel_tag":[],"contributor_rel_tag":[],"class_list":{"0":"post-90037","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","6":"category-energy-news","7":"tag-climate-change","8":"tag-construction-services","9":"tag-development","10":"tag-energy-efficiency","11":"tag-energy","12":"tag-finance","13":"tag-government","14":"tag-heating","15":"tag-housing","16":"tag-insulation","17":"tag-solar-energy"},"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v26.9 (Yoast SEO v26.9) - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-premium-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>\u00a32.6m boost for &#039;Bright Green Homes&#039;
