{"id":91150,"date":"2021-03-29T10:12:30","date_gmt":"2021-03-29T09:12:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=91150"},"modified":"2021-03-29T10:12:30","modified_gmt":"2021-03-29T09:12:30","slug":"500-homes-brownfield-housing-fund","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/500-homes-brownfield-housing-fund\/91150\/","title":{"rendered":"500 Manchester homes to be built through Brownfield Housing Fund"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Manchester has been allocated \u00a37.82m in the second tranche of funding from an \u00a381.1m funding pot for Greater Manchester<\/h2>\n<p>The\u00a0Brownfield Housing Fund is a \u00a3400m national fund designed to support home building on brownfield sites to accelerate home building across the country.<\/p>\n<p>Developing brownfield land is key priority for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.manchester.gov.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Manchester City Council<\/a> to drive housing development on unused site to meet the city\u2019s growing demand for quality, affordable housing.<\/p>\n<p>This\u00a0will help deliver\u00a0around 522\u00a0new homes,\u00a0and\u00a0the majority to be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/manchestr-industrial-regeneration\/83030\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">affordable housing for Manchester<\/a> people.<\/p>\n<p>Manchester also received funding from the first trance. The chosen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/new-victoria-scheme-2\/82212\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">schemes across Greater Manchester<\/a> must be ready to receive their funding allocation by 30 June 2021.<\/p>\n<p>If schemes are unable to progress by that point, funding will defer to a reserve list of projects.<\/p>\n<h3>The sites to be funded in this tranche includes:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Collyhurst\u00a0Village,\u00a0Collyhurst\u00a0\u2013 139 homes (part of the Victoria North project \u2013 formerly Northern Gateway)<\/li>\n<li>Back of\u00a0Ancoats, City Centre\u00a0\u2013 275 homes<\/li>\n<li>Silk Street Development, Newton Heath\u00a0\u2013 69 homes<\/li>\n<li>Ancoats Dispensary \u2013 39 homes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Suzanne Richards, Manchester City Council\u2019s executive member for housing and regeneration,<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>said: &#8220;This funding is very welcome.
