Some \u00a3140m of industry Levy will be invested in 2021\/22 in funding for employers to train and in employer support and services.<\/p>\n<p>The targeted investments in careers, training and development, and standards and qualifications reflect input from employers on their priorities, including CITB\u2019s Nations Councils for England, Scotland and Wales.<\/p>\n<p>There will be significant Levy investment in crucial areas <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/hr-skills-news\/citb-apprenticeship-support\/86145\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">like apprenticeship support<\/a>, work placements, building bridges from further education into construction and direct funding to employers for training.<\/p>\n<p>Enhanced funding support will increasingly focus on the most in-demand skill areas required to deliver accelerated homebuilding and infrastructure and wider challenges such as boosting productivity, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/health-safety-news\/fire-safety-competency-grenfell\/71192\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">building safely post-Grenfell<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/energy-news\/net-zero-carbon-development-2\/90312\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">net-zero carbon emissions<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This will include key trades and wider challenges such as leadership and management, digital skills and retrofitting.<\/p>\n<p>The Business Plan also closely aligns with the joint recovery plans with governments in all three nations, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionleadershipcouncil.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Construction Leadership Council<\/a>\u2019s recently published\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/tracking.vuelio.co.uk\/tracking\/click?d=AYL_eQlzPiSzW-B73ph-MKWOEZ1pQszrdw2ol3PeM4guvS3Xqvxh3CnGBYqGJKpIreNqLdneF47WksnXVul-tPczQ9EZyd32kA-GnmnvEbTzALkyve1aem6sNuTOETrPkYObMMqTCNw_-Kkzn0kEXajRnb7Y6HqajDWo96qQPm2H9bLSUvnSDYngdmULTxzzgVyMMXuI0M4-9euuX16zGrYtxznHQc6HXE5Pa2oTj_-whrX0stKoR13JRFBvY4XmdA2\">Industry Skills Plan<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Upskill their people and retain vital skills<\/h3>\n<p>CITB chief executive Sarah Beale said: \u201cThis Business Plan is based on listening to the industry and investing in what it has told us is important to it.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As promised, we\u2019re targeting Levy at fewer initiatives to ensure industry funds work hard and tackle priority issues.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe plan strikes the right balance between employers\u2019 current needs and future skills challenges.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will continue to work in partnership with industry to help attract talent and make it easier for new entrants to join, while giving employers the right support and access to training to upskill their people and retain vital skills.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis work will put construction in a strong position to grow, improve productivity and become an inclusive, even-more-rewarding sector in which to develop a career.\u201d<\/p>\n<div
