{"id":91394,"date":"2021-04-01T09:06:05","date_gmt":"2021-04-01T08:06:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=91394"},"modified":"2021-04-01T09:06:05","modified_gmt":"2021-04-01T08:06:05","slug":"professional-services-framework-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/professional-services-framework-4\/91394\/","title":{"rendered":"Amey attains place on TfGM professional services framework"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amey.co.uk\/amey-consulting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Amey Consulting<\/a> has secured a three-year term on <a href=\"https:\/\/tfgm.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Transport for Greater Manchester<\/a>\u2019s (TfGM) \u00a388m professional services framework<\/h2>\n<p>Amey Consulting wants to harness <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/construction-technology-news\/air-quality-sensors\/89958\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">green technology<\/a>, including the use of hybrid technology to help TfGM <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/energy-news\/industrial-decarbonisation-strategy\/90507\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reduce CO2 emissions<\/a>, as well as investing in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/construction-technology-news\/smes-digital-transformation\/83033\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">digital connectivity<\/a> to provide passengers with electronic ticketing systems for seamless journeys.<\/p>\n<p>Amey has proposed several exciting innovations to drive performance improvement across transport in the North West.<\/p>\n<p>Amey Consulting will target local graduates through its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amey.co.uk\/rail-degree-2021\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Railway Engineering degree apprenticeship scheme<\/a> and partner with social enterprises to hire ex-armed forces personnel.<\/p>\n<p>This builds upon Amey Consulting\u2019s existing commitment to Greater Manchester, as the current operators and maintainers of Manchester Metrolink, with Keolis, and as having also been appointed to TfGM\u2019s 2016 framework.<\/p>\n<p>Among the proposals is utilising Quartz, Amey Consulting\u2019s data science application, currently used by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.networkrail.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Network Rail<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Quartz uses to-the-second train movement data to understand station performance, identify the causes of delays, and devise targeted actions to drive efficiency.<\/p>\n<h3>Investing in the workforce<\/h3>\n<p>Alex Gilbert, managing director, Amey Consulting said: \u201cWe are delighted to have been appointed to the professional services framework.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur extensive operational, asset management and consulting expertise makes us uniquely placed to support clients in achieving performance improvements that benefit the people of Greater Manchester and beyond.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are also committed to delivering these works with local teams, further investing in the highly skilled workforce of the North West and unlocking opportunities for people and small businesses.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAmey Consulting will offer TfGM an innovative approach to sustainable growth.
