It identifies the technical requirements applicable to the design and construction of buildings<\/h2>\n<p>If you\u2019re new to the manual or just want to find out more about how it can help you, then you\u2019ll find answers to the most asked questions below.<\/p>\n<h3>What is the technical manual?<\/h3>\n<p>The Premier Guarantee Technical Manual sets out the functional requirements for the design and construction of buildings covered under <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/new-home-structural-warranties\/90523\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">our warranties<\/a> (see below for more about functional requirements).<\/p>\n<p>It has been written by the in-house technical team and includes supporting guidance which can be used as a means to meet the functional requirements.<\/p>\n<p>The guidance includes information, diagrams and data tables to help all parties understand what is needed throughout each of the stages of construction in order to meet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/guides-reviews\/structural-warranty-planning\/57654\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">warranty standards<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>How will it benefit me?<\/h3>\n<p>It\u2019s best to get things right from the start. The guidance supporting the functional requirements is not prescriptive but should be treated as best practice.<\/p>\n<p>Alternative solutions to those in the guidance can be used as long as the completed work meets the functional requirements.<\/p>\n<h3>What are the functional requirements?<\/h3>\n<p>The Technical Manual references functional requirements throughout. These are broken into three areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>workmanship<\/li>\n<li>materials<\/li>\n<li>design<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Functional requirements are fundamental issues which must meet compliance in order to achieve warranty standards. The Technical Manual explains the general functional requirements which are applicable to all sections. There are also specific requirements attributable to particular sections, these are suggested solutions, however if alternatives are used in place of the suggestions these must still meet the functional requirements.<\/p>\n<h3>How do I get a copy?<\/h3>\n<p>You can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.premierguarantee.com\/technical-standards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sign up<\/a> to receive the Technical Manual. You\u2019ll be given options to download or view an online version.
