BESA<\/a> is partnering with PRS Recruitment<\/a> to deliver a new online jobs board<\/a>\u00a0to help members attract new recruits and match skilled people with the right job<\/h2>\n

The new building services jobs board is BESA\u2019s latest move to address the skills shortage<\/a> that was already a source of concern before the Covid-19 crisis and has been exacerbated by a spate of redundancies during and after the lockdown periods.<\/p>\n

It is also designed to stop the industry from losing valuable skills by ensuring redundant workers can be placed with new employers.<\/p>\n

The growth in remote working<\/a> models and greater enthusiasm for working from home is also challenging traditional recruitment and training models \u2013 so the new BESA jobs board is a welcome innovation for employers of all sizes.<\/p>\n

A number of studies have suggested that up to 50% of people employed in the building engineering sector will have retired by the end of this decade.<\/p>\n

Employers will be looking to replace some of that experience and expertise \u2013 while also trying to improve the diversity of the current workforce to keep up with developments in modern ways of working and new digital approaches.<\/p>\n

BESA\u00a0members will be able to post vacancies on the Jobs Board free of charge for the first six months and individuals will be able to search for roles that are relevant to them.<\/p>\n

There are already more than 3,000 vacancies listed on this newly launched platform, which will consolidate all the relevant jobs in the sector in one online space. It will also provide a\u00a0two-way online chat service between candidates and employers to speed up the recruitment process.<\/p>\n

PRS Recruitment has a team focusing on recruitment opportunities in facilities management, M&E engineering<\/a>, refrigeration and air conditioning, and property management.<\/p>\n

An important strategic development<\/h3>\n

BESA’s membership director Jason Hemingway, said: \u201cThis is a very important strategic development for the association and its members.<\/p>\n

\u201cRetaining and recruiting skilled people will be a crucial part of the industry\u2019s recovery as we emerge from the pandemic.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe platform we are building with PRS can play a significant role by bringing employers and prospective skilled staff together.\u201d<\/p>\n
