{"id":92770,"date":"2021-04-29T13:38:42","date_gmt":"2021-04-29T12:38:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=92770"},"modified":"2021-04-29T13:38:42","modified_gmt":"2021-04-29T12:38:42","slug":"structural-defects-warranty","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/building-control-news\/structural-defects-warranty\/92770\/","title":{"rendered":"AHCI prepares to open new London office in 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Following several years of sustained growth, structural defects warranty specialist <a href=\"https:\/\/ahci.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Advantage Home Construction Insurance<\/a> (AHCI) is continuing to expand its sales and technical team<\/h2>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/ahci.co.uk\/home-owners-warranty\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">structural defects warranty<\/a> provider has its headquarters in Warrington and its founders opened new offices in Horsham and Birmingham, before opening their latest office in Huddersfield in the first quarter of 2021, after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/stakeholders\/building-defects-insurance\/34428\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">AHCI<\/a> marked a record period for sales.<\/p>\n<p>Sales director David Sumner, said: \u201cThe whole team has worked incredibly hard to continue to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/structural-warranty-covid-19\/75184\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">serve our clients safely during the pandemic<\/a>, and the sales team has been extremely proactive, helping to drive our continued success during what has been a very challenging period for many businesses.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are currently recruiting more staff for the new office we\u2019re planning to open in central London.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>AHCI provides structural defects cover for a range of projects \u2013 from \u00a350m-plus developments to individual <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/new-build-prices\/81937\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">self-builds nationwide<\/a>. The company works closely with self-builders, developers, contractors and housing associations, as well as intermediaries such as local authorities, solicitors, property advisers, architects, financial advisers, banks and administrators.<\/p>\n<p>Last August, it signed a long-term deal with an A-rated insurance carrier, with the new A-rated capacity forming part of long-term plans for the sustainable growth of the business.<\/p>\n<p>Simon Cooper, technical manager, said: \u201cWorking systems have changed slightly (as a result of the new safety measures that AHCI has implemented during the pandemic), and we\u2019ve encountered some potential extra challenges when arranging site visits (as some sites have been closed or have been difficult to access). However, we haven\u2019t seen any indication of a lull in the construction industry and we have remained busy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added: \u201cWe\u2019ve adapted to the new ways of working\u201d and said that AHCI\u2019s technical team had been very proactive during a period of rapid change.<\/p>\n<h3>A period of growth<\/h3>\n<p>As AHCI employs its own team of surveyors, who\u2019ve continued to carry out site visits adhering to all Covid guidelines, and the company\u2019s directors had invested in their software and IT network prior to the pandemic, facilitating remote work for office-based staff where necessary, the company was well placed to continue to serve its clients throughout the pandemic with minimal disruption.<\/p>\n<p>Building upon a period of growth for the business, AHCI\u2019s directors will now open the doors to their central London office, giving the company, which works with many of the nation\u2019s leading developers, a presence in the capital.<\/p>\n<p>Advantage Home Construction Insurance is proud to work with individual housebuilders and developers on a wide range of projects, including retirement developments.
