{"id":93226,"date":"2021-05-11T11:39:03","date_gmt":"2021-05-11T10:39:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=93226"},"modified":"2021-07-20T13:27:50","modified_gmt":"2021-07-20T12:27:50","slug":"construction-net-zero","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/energy-news\/construction-net-zero\/93226\/","title":{"rendered":"Construction industry praised for net zero contribution"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Speaking at the virtual Business 7 Summit (or \u2018B7\u2019), business secretary Kwasi Kwarteng, praised the construction industry\u2019s contribution to achieving net zero<\/h2>\n<p>The Secretary of State set out his priorities and views on business leadership, highlighting that over 58 UK construction businesses have already signed up to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/energy-news\/arup-joins-race-to-zero\/86484\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Race to Zero<\/a>, including firms such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lendlease.com\/uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Lendlease<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.multiplex.global\/eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Multiplex<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Kwasi Kwarteng highlighted the UK\u2019s leading consultancy businesses working in the built environment, which have collectively committed to offering ambitious design options and advice that are fully compatible with net zero outcomes to their clients.<\/p>\n<p>This means that the expert advice received by financiers, asset owners and operators will now be encouraging, and actively driving towards, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/mmc-news\/offsite-net-zero-target\/80736\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ambitious net zero choices<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>These firms are respected around the globe for their expertise and include\u00a0AECOM, Arcadis, Arup, Atkins, Buro Happold, Jacobs, Mott MacDonald, Mace, Turner &amp;
