{"id":93282,"date":"2021-05-12T11:01:53","date_gmt":"2021-05-12T10:01:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=93282"},"modified":"2021-05-12T11:01:53","modified_gmt":"2021-05-12T10:01:53","slug":"3m-britwell-gp-hub","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/3m-britwell-gp-hub\/93282\/","title":{"rendered":"Kier to deliver new \u00a33m Britwell GP Hub"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kier.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kier<\/a> has been appointed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.slough.gov.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Slough Borough Council<\/a> to deliver a \u00a33m project that includes the remodelling and extension of the community building in Britwell, Slough, to include a new GP surgery<\/h2>\n<p>The project, procured through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scape.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SCAPE<\/a>, is being jointly funded by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.england.nhs.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NHS England<\/a> and this project will transform two existing buildings into one modern and fit-for-purpose building.<\/p>\n<p>The 911m2 building will provide an integrated approach to treating patients, with consultation rooms as well as spaces to carry out minor procedures.<\/p>\n<p>Kier starts on site this month and the work is set to be complete this winter.<\/p>\n<p>This appointment builds on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/kier-royal-brompton-hospital\/63287\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kier\u2019s expertise within the healthcare sector<\/a>, with other projects being delivered within the region including the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/kier-hospital-transformation\/51726\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u00a398m transformation<\/a> of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/kier-heatherwood-hospital\/71880\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Heatherwood Hospital<\/a>\u00a0for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fhft.nhs.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Frimley Health NHS Trust<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Revolutionise health services for Britwell<\/h3>\n<p>Louisa Finlay, managing director of Kier Regional Building Southern, states: \u201cWe are proud to be delivering this important new GP centre for the Britwell community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOver the course of this project, we will work with our local and skilled supply chain partners and provide job and training opportunities for residents of Britwell as we look to leave lasting legacies in areas in which we work.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sangeeta Saran, director of operations, Slough Place for NHS Frimley Collaborative, said: \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theavenuemcblackley.nhs.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Avenue Medical Centre<\/a> has been providing an excellent service to Britwell residents for many years and it is rightly held in high esteem locally.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnfortunately its current home is simply too small to provide all the range of services we want to provide in a local and convenient setting;
