CCG OSM<\/a> (Offsite Manufacturing) Ltd, a subsidiary of the CCG (Scotland) Group, has appointed a new director as part of the firm\u2019s ongoing strategy for growth<\/h2>\n

David Crawford joined the group in 2014 as a systems analyst following a 4-year term as an associate consultant with Edinburgh Napier University<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Responsible for the research and analysis of productivity across CCG\u2019s manufacturing divisions, which includes the creation of timber systems<\/a> and windows and doors, David then joined OSM<\/a> full-time in 2016.<\/p>\n

David Crawford\u2019s role since joining the business has been to manage day-to-day business operations of the production and site-related processes; overseeing product development of the iQ Timber System and the improvement of efficiencies on the factory floor and kit erect activities.<\/p>\n

OSM has been an integral component of the ongoing expansion of the CCG Group with over 2000 homes presently under construction across the breadth of the country.<\/p>\n

The capabilities of the business have also helped to support the \u2018CCG Net Zero Home<\/a>\u2019 building standard, a newly-launched building standard that significantly reduces carbon emissions<\/a> and heating costs.<\/p>\n

The OSM team ‘look forward’ to the challenge<\/h3>\n

David Crawford said: \u201cI have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the CCG Group since joining in 2014 and I am very grateful for the support shown by OSM managing director, Steven Earlie, in appointing me to this new role.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have achieved a lot during my time with the company: our productivity has increased on average 19% year-on-year whilst our iQ timber system\u2019s thermal performance has been improved by as much as 37%.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis would not have been achieved without investment into new machinery and software as well as the commitment of our staff as we strive to deliver a first-class service to our parent company, CCG, and our external clients.\u201d<\/p>\n

Crawford added: \u201cOur productivity and sustainability improvements are (and will continue to be) hugely important for the Scottish construction industry as we embark on an ambitious programme of decarbonisation and the delivery of 100,000 new homes in the next parliamentary term.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe use of \u2018offsite methods\u2019 is evidently a crucial element to achieving these targets given the enhanced energy performance credentials and speed of construction that can ultimately be achieved so it is my ambition to keep the CCG Group at the forefront of sustainable construction<\/a> in this country.<\/p>\n

Steven Earlie, CCG OSM managing director, commented: \u201cDavid\u2019s appointment as director is an important step forward for our business and I am delighted to welcome him into his new role.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe employ 120 people and have a manufacturing output currently in excess of 1200 homes per year; with David\u2019s knowledge and experience, alongside the tireless efforts of our dedicated staff, I am confident that we can continue to improve and reach new levels of success.\u201d<\/p>\n
