{"id":93603,"date":"2021-05-19T09:08:17","date_gmt":"2021-05-19T08:08:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=93603"},"modified":"2021-05-19T09:08:17","modified_gmt":"2021-05-19T08:08:17","slug":"new-jobs-birminghams-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/hr-skills-news\/new-jobs-birminghams-project\/93603\/","title":{"rendered":"HS2 confirms 1,000 new jobs on Birmingham\u2019s biggest construction project"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hs2.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">HS2 Ltd<\/a> has confirmed that over 1,000 jobs will be created by the joint venture that will build HS2\u2019s landmark station in the centre of Birmingham, helping the UK to \u2018build back better\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>Following a visit to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/birmingham-hs2-station\/93181\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">HS2\u2019s Curzon Street Station<\/a> by West Midlands Mayor Andy Street last week, HS2 Ltd and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macegroup.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mace<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dragados.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dragados<\/a> formally signed the station contract, signalling the start of a project that will bring significant jobs and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/hr-skills-news\/construction-skills-west-midlands\/82621\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">skills opportunities for people in the West Midlands<\/a> region.<\/p>\n<p>The signing event took place during a unique Cleaner Construction Showcase held at the Curzon Street Station site by HS2\u2019s early works contractor LMJV (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.laingorourke.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Laing O\u2019Rourke<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.murphygroup.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">J.
