Housebuilder Durkan<\/a> has agreed with the University of Cambridge<\/a> to deliver up to 170 new homes at the North West Cambridge Development<\/h2>\n

The Eddington site deal will facilitate the delivery of one and two-bedroom apartments and three and four-bedroom homes at the North West Cambridge Development.<\/p>\n

The scheme will also incorporate communal landscaped courtyards and private gardens.<\/p>\n

The wider North West Cambridge Development, a community created by the University of Cambridge, will include around 3,000 new homes, academic space and community facilities \u2013 in addition to over 50-hectares of green space.<\/p>\n

The site will be connected to the existing heat and power system through the provision of a district heating network<\/a>.<\/p>\n

All the homes will also be designed to adhere to the Code for Sustainable Homes Level 5.<\/p>\n

\u2018Careful design and collaboration\u2019<\/h3>\n

Bill Beyzade, managing director of housebuilding at Durkan, said: \u201cWe\u2019re delighted to have made this agreement to contribute to a vital part of North West Cambridge\u2019s housing provision.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe parcel of land will be carefully designed to complement the existing area, and will be built through careful collaboration<\/a> with the University of Cambridge, local stakeholders and Eddington residents.\u201d<\/p>\n

The development has also been planned to enhance the existing landscape on the site, with the aim of carefully integrating it into the wider North West Cambridge Development and the existing community.<\/p>\n

An application is expected to be submitted in October 2021 in the hope of a start on site by summer 2023.<\/p>\n
