{"id":94503,"date":"2021-06-08T10:54:41","date_gmt":"2021-06-08T09:54:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=94503"},"modified":"2021-06-08T10:54:41","modified_gmt":"2021-06-08T09:54:41","slug":"tfl-kidbrooke-development","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/tfl-kidbrooke-development\/94503\/","title":{"rendered":"TfL secures \u00a312.7m green loan to deliver new development in Kidbrooke"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Kidbrooke Partnership LLP \u2013 a joint venture between <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhg.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Notting Hill Genesis<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/tfl.gov.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Transport for London<\/a> (TfL) \u2013 has secured a \u00a312.7m Green Development Loan from HSBC UK to deliver a new scheme in Kidbrooke<\/h2>\n<p>The socially and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/the-london-plan-7-areas\/92011\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">environmentally sustainable<\/a> Kidbrooke development will deliver more than 600 new homes, along with a new village square with new shops and green walkways.<\/p>\n<p>The funding, which is aligned to the Loan Market Association\u2019s \u2018Green Loan Principles\u2019, will be used for the construction of phase one of the project.<\/p>\n<p>This part of the scheme comprises 413 London Affordable Rent, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/shared-ownership-housing-crisis\/67598\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">shared ownership<\/a> and private sale apartments. In total, 619 homes will be built as part of the scheme \u2013 with 50% affordable housing.<\/p>\n<p>The partnership will sustainably regenerate an underutilised four-acre brownfield site, with a new nursery, an improved transport hub and a new village square.<\/p>\n<p>The site, which is due to complete in 2027, will also incorporate nature as part of the design with green walkways and will retain parts of the existing woodland.<\/p>\n<p>The Kidbrooke development and partnership forms part of TfL\u2019s wider commercial development programme.<\/p>\n<h3>\u2018Creating much-needed sustainable homes\u2019<\/h3>\n<p>Graeme Craig, director of commercial development at TfL, said: \u201cWith enabling works on site close to completion, we\u2019re excited to be starting the first phase of main works construction, working with Notting Hill Genesis, to deliver hundreds of new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/tag\/affordable-housing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">affordable homes<\/a>, thanks to this Green Development Loan from HSBC UK.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt demonstrates confidence in our approach of working with leading housing developers to use our land to create much-needed new homes with sustainability at their core, which will also generate long-term income for London\u2019s public transport network.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jake Brodetsky, joint venture partnerships director at Notting Hill Genesis, commented: \u201cOur priority is always to provide quality homes and thriving communities, but we also believe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/green-space-2\/80396\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">protecting the environment<\/a> is an integral part of a high-performing, successful organisation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSecuring a green loan from HSBC UK is great news for us, our partners, our residents and the wider community alike.
