Pimlico Plumbers<\/a> has become the UK\u2019s largest independent home services company to enforce a \u2018no jab, no job\u2019 policy as part of its latest recruitment drive<\/h2>\n

Pimlico Plumbers is advertising for new staff stipulating that successful candidates must be vaccinated against Covid-19<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The London-based family firm is looking to take on six new members of its in-house maintenance team, including plumbers, carpenters, an electrician, and a painter.<\/p>\n

All applicants will be asked to provide proof that they have had a least one Covid-19 vaccination.<\/p>\n

\u2018It hasn\u2019t put anyone off applying\u2019<\/h3>\n

Charlie Mullins, founder and chairman of Pimlico Plumbers, said: \u201cThis is the first time since the pandemic began that our recruitment ads will make it clear to anyone applying that they must have had at least one jab.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know there are critics out there painting this as a human rights issue, but all I want is to ensure both our people and our customers are safe and to give them added confidence in this business.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt Pimlico, we take this pandemic extremely seriously and continue to add new equipment and processes to our existing Covid-secure policies<\/a>, including regularly testing all staff and using thermal scanners to pick up on anyone with a tell-tale high temperature.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo far, we have gone through thousands of litres of hand sanitiser and tonnes of PPE. Making vaccinations mandatory for all new staff allows us to continue offering Londoners a safe and secure service.<\/p>\n

\u201cDespite all the kerfuffle surrounding our \u2018no jab, no job\u2019 policy, it doesn\u2019t seem to have put anyone off from applying. Most think it\u2019s sensible and appropriate.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe quicker we get on top of this dreadful disease, the quicker we can all return to normal and get this country\u2019s economy back on track.\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlie Mullins first unveiled his \u2018no jab, no job\u2019 policy in January after saying he was prepared to spend upwards of \u00a31m on Covid jabs, if they became privately available, to ensure his 450-strong workforce could be vaccinated.<\/p>\n
