{"id":94684,"date":"2021-06-14T08:49:21","date_gmt":"2021-06-14T07:49:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=94684"},"modified":"2021-06-18T08:52:25","modified_gmt":"2021-06-18T07:52:25","slug":"new-hale-wharf-bridge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/new-hale-wharf-bridge\/94684\/","title":{"rendered":"New Hale Wharf Bridge officially open in Haringey"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.watersideplaces.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Waterside Places<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.musedevelopments.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Muse Developments<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mclarengroup.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">McLaren Construction<\/a> has opened Hale Wharf Bridge \u2013 a key piece of infrastructure installed over the River Lee Navigation<\/h2>\n<p>The bridge, which opened shortly after the completion of the first phase of 249 homes at Hale Wharf, represents a vital part of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.haringey.gov.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Haringey Council<\/a>\u2019s green and open space strategy, improving access and movement between the high street and the Lea Valley for local residents.<\/p>\n<p>Partners are currently welcoming new residents to their new homes, with 108 delivered for rent through landlord, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.graingerplc.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Grainger plc<\/a> and the remaining 141, known as Navigation Point &#8211; for sale on the open market.<\/p>\n<p>The wider Hale Wharf scheme is being delivered by Waterside Places \u2013 a strategic joint venture between <a href=\"https:\/\/canalrivertrust.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Canal &amp; River Trust<\/a> and one of the UK\u2019s most innovative urban regenerators, Muse Developments, in partnership with the Mayor of London and London Borough of Haringey.<\/p>\n<p>The scheme is part of the Mayor of London\u2019s Housing Zones programme, and with 505 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/weston-homes-town-quay-wharf\/91369\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">homes due to be delivered<\/a> once complete, Hale Wharf will make an important contribution to the mayor and the Greater London Authority\u2019s aspiration for 2,000 new homes in the borough.<\/p>\n<h3>Bringing this urban waterfront scheme to life<\/h3>\n<p>Andrew Boyle, project director at Waterside Places, said: \u201cIt\u2019s a massive achievement to deliver Hale Wharf Bridge, which was testament to the hard work of everyone involved with the scheme.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are large pockets of open space here at Hale Wharf and across the borough, and it\u2019s right that we do everything we can to make sure they can be accessed by the community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTogether with partners, we\u2019re delighted to have delivered this key piece of infrastructure as part of the council\u2019s wider strategy and we look forward to seeing more people using open spaces around Hale Wharf over the summer months and beyond.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>John Butten, McLaren\u2019s managing director \u2013 construction major projects, said: \u201cWe are proud to hand over this project as part of the Haringey Green Link initiative, delivering outstanding homes and connecting local people to the Lee Valley nature reserve with a brand-new footbridge.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe homes delivered here in phase one are of an exceptionally high standard, incorporating a blend of build-to-rent and private sale apartments.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are extremely proud to have played our part in bringing this important urban waterfront scheme to life for Waterside Places and Grainger.
