noreferrer\">Icebreaker One<\/a> have been commissioned by the government to lead the next phase of its Energy Data Visibility Project (EDVP) to organise and improve access to the UK\u2019s metadata<\/h2>\n<p>The aim of the project will be to help accelerate the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/energy-news\/net-zero-commercial-heating\/87912\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">journey to net-zero<\/a> by making information more accessible to scale up renewable energy projects and enable new innovation.<\/p>\n<p>The project, commissioned by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/organisations\/department-for-business-energy-and-industrial-strategy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy<\/a> (BEIS) will develop an innovative service that will unlock and centralise the UK\u2019s current patchwork of energy metadata sources to improve their visibility and accuracy.<\/p>\n<p>The EDVP project forms part of the Modernising Energy Data (MED) programmes being commissioned by BEIS, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ofgem.gov.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ofgem<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/organisations\/innovate-uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Innovate UK<\/a>, which is leading the change towards a digital energy sector.<\/p>\n<h3>The EDVP aims to deliver:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Increases the visibility of energy system metadata (a description of the attributes of a dataset), by listing metadata centrally, to an agreed standard<\/li>\n<li>Provides a mechanism for missing\/closed data to be requested by energy system participants<\/li>\n<li>Provides direct access to data that is open to the user<\/li>\n<li>Allows data users to provide feedback on the quality of data<\/li>\n<li>Collects service analytics.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Supporting a net-zero future<\/h3>\n<p>Tracy Green, client
