Integrated Health Projects<\/a> (IHP), the Vinci Construction UK<\/a> and Sir Robert McAlpine<\/a> joint venture has been appointed to deliver a new Children and Young Persons (CYP) Mental Healthcare facility for the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM)<\/h2>\n

The new purpose-built mental healthcare facility<\/a>, which will be known as the Pears Maudsley Centre for Children and Young People’s Mental Health, will bring together world-leading experts in clinical care and research<\/a> from South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM) and King\u2019s College London\u2019s Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IoPPN).<\/p>\n

Identifying life-changing treatments<\/h3>\n

With floor space totalling 9,100m2 spread over 8 floors, the new CYP facility will enable clinicians and scientists to collaborate and identify treatments for the lives of children, young people, and their families.<\/p>\n

Designed by IBI Group<\/a>, a key design feature employs multiple external roof terraces with the tiered design enhancing the movement of natural daylight into all areas.<\/p>\n

PM\/QS for the project is Aecom\/Gardiner & Theobald with IBI Group appointed as architect.<\/p>\n

The structural engineer is WSP Group and Troup Bywaters + Anders is MEP.<\/p>\n

Work began on site in March 2021 under the ProCure21+ framework<\/a> agreement and is due to complete in May 2023.<\/p>\n
