target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nottinghamshire County Council<\/a> to commence work on road improvements along the A614\/A6097 between Ollerton and East Bridgford<\/h2>\n<p>The complete package of measures within the scheme includes six junction improvements along the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/nottingham-infrastructure-projects\/51669\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">A614 and A6097<\/a>, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ollerton Roundabout \u2013 the intersection of the A614 \/ A616 \/ A6075 roundabout<\/li>\n<li>Mickledale Lane junction \u2013 the A614 \/ Mickledale Lane crossroads<\/li>\n<li>White Post roundabout \u2013 the A614 \/ Mansfield Road roundabout<\/li>\n<li>Warren Hill junction \u2013 the A614 \/ A6097 priority junction<\/li>\n<li>Lowdham Roundabout \u2013 the A6097 \/ A612 Nottingham Road \/ Southwell Road roundabout, and<\/li>\n<li>Kirk Hill junction \u2013 the A6097 \/ Kirk Hill crossroads.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Works are expected to take place by Via East Midlands, Nottinghamshire County Council\u2019s wholly-owned highways company, in 2023 subject to the completion of statutory processes.<\/p>\n<p>The next key milestone for the project is the planning application which will be submitted to the planning authority this summer.<\/p>\n<h3>\u2018Putting Nottinghamshire well and truly on the map\u2019<\/h3>\n<p>Councillor Ben Bradley, leader of Nottinghamshire County Council, said: \u201cThe announcement from the Department for Transport (Dft) is fantastic news for Nottinghamshire.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis investment is not only key to upgrading a major route through our county, but also for the delivery of numerous regeneration, growth and tourism projects in the area.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn 2019, a total 4.5 million visitors made a trip to tourist attractions including Sherwood Forest, Rufford Abbey Country Park and Centre Parcs, all of which are served by the A614.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe upgrade of the A614\/A6097 corridor is just another example of how we are ensuring that Nottinghamshire is well and truly on the map as a great place to live, work, visit and bring up your family.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Councillor Keith Girling, chairman of the economic development and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/asset-management-built-environment\/62094\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">asset management<\/a> committee, said: \u201cThis ambitious project has been a top priority for the county council for some time and I am delighted to see that it is now all systems go.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe scheme will support planned housing developments along the route in Bilsthorpe, Ollerton and Edwinstowe, reduce peak period traffic congestion for the benefit of commuters and local businesses, and improve <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/health-safety-news\/inflatable-safety-barrier\/83301\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">road safety<\/a> for all users.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would like to thank all of those people who have been involved in the recent consultation activity and helped us to get to this point.\u201d<\/p>\n<div
