Housebuilder Lovell Partnerships<\/a> has been appointed to deliver 130 new council homes in Bestwood, Nottingham<\/h2>\n

Planning permission to build up to 130 council homes<\/a> in Bestwood was granted last year.<\/p>\n

The homes, which consist of two and three-bedroom houses, bungalows and flats will be built on land off Beckhampton Road.<\/p>\n

Following a tender process, Lovell Partnerships has been awarded the contract\u00a0for one of the biggest \u2018Building a Better Nottingham\u2019 developments\u00a0in the city.<\/p>\n

Once built, they will be owned by Nottingham City Council<\/a> and managed on their behalf by\u00a0Nottingham City Homes.<\/p>\n

The homes will be let\u00a0to households on the city\u2019s council\u00a0house waiting list\u00a0at affordable rents.<\/p>\n

\u2018Creating safe, warm and modern homes\u2019<\/h3>\n

Councillor Linda Woodings, portfolio holder for planning,\u00a0housing and heritage at Nottingham City Council,\u00a0said: “Nottingham needs a mix of all\u00a0different types of housing,\u00a0from homes\u00a0for\u00a0families, flats\u00a0for\u00a0couples and single people, to bungalows.<\/p>\n

“Working with Nottingham City Homes and partners, we’ve been transforming unused sites like the one in Bestwood into new council homes for affordable rent for those people most in need.<\/p>\n

\u201cBuilding social homes<\/a>, not only helps to address Nottingham\u2019s housing need, but also encourages investment, creates jobs and helps to support local supply chain businesses which will be increasingly important as the city recovers from Covid-19.”<\/p>\n

Nick Murphy, chief executive at Nottingham City Homes, commented: \u201cThe Beckhampton development gives NCH and the Council a great opportunity to provide much needed council homes for local people in\u00a0Bestwood, and I am delighted that we have appointed Lovell Homes as our construction partner for the development.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey will help use to not only create safe, warm and modern homes for the area, but they will work with us to transform the green and open space as part of the development which the whole community can enjoy.\u201d<\/p>\n
