{"id":95561,"date":"2021-07-01T11:17:42","date_gmt":"2021-07-01T10:17:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/?p=95561"},"modified":"2021-07-01T15:12:37","modified_gmt":"2021-07-01T14:12:37","slug":"suffolk-construction-projects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/suffolk-construction-projects\/95561\/","title":{"rendered":"Morgan Sindall secures place on Suffolk construction projects"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>A series of new-build community facilities are set to be delivered by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.morgansindallconstruction.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Morgan Sindall Construction<\/a> in Suffolk, with a combined value of \u00a315.3m<\/h2>\n<p>The projects will be delivered for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.suffolk.gov.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Suffolk County Council<\/a> under the Suffolk construction framework, which governs the procurement of a full spectrum of construction, refurbishment and demolition schemes in the region.<\/p>\n<p data-block-key=\"5legt\">The Suffolk projects include a new school in Bury St Edmunds, a major refurbishment of an Ipswich recycling centre, and a new police and fire station in Stowmarket.<\/p>\n<p data-block-key=\"d4v5c\">The four-year \u00a3750m framework, which is managed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.concertus.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Concertus Design &amp; Property Consultants<\/a>\u00a0is open to public sector bodies across the East of England.<\/p>\n<p>The schemes have been procured and will be delivered by the team led by Alister Broadberry, who took on the role of area director for Morgan Sindall Construction\u2019s Eastern Counties in June 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Morgan Sindall Construction\u2019s Eastern Counties office has also recently been appointed by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/mmc-news\/mmc-hospital-upgrade\/88478\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">James Paget University Hospital<\/a> NHS Foundation Trust\u00a0in Gorleston, Great Yarmouth as the primary contractor for two major\u00a0schemes totalling \u00a33.8m.<\/p>\n<h3>Bury St Edmunds<\/h3>\n<p data-block-key=\"c6oke\">The Bury St Edmunds project is a \u00a36.5m, 80-place all-through school on the Moreton Hall Estate, providing much-needed school places for local children with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.<\/p>\n<p data-block-key=\"c6oke\">The two-storey building will consist of three standard primary classrooms, a main hall, hygiene room and food and design technology rooms on the ground floor, whilst upstairs will house eight general teaching classrooms and library. Outside the school will benefit from sports pitches, hard play areas and a multi-use games area (MUGA).<\/p>\n<h3>Ipswich<\/h3>\n<p data-block-key=\"6dk7s\">The recycling scheme in Ipswich will see a \u00a35.9m remodelling of Foxhall Recycling Centre. The comprehensive programme of works includes ground improvements and the creation of ramps to provide better access to the waste bins.<\/p>\n<h3>Stowmarket<\/h3>\n<p data-block-key=\"43vhg\">The team will be constructing a new \u00a32.9m community fire and police station for the village, off Needham Road.
