Living Space Housing<\/a> has submitted a detailed planning application to Bromsgrove District Council<\/a> for 60 homes on a site off Perryfields Road<\/h2>\n

Living Space has lodged the plans in conjunction with PDR Developments<\/a>. The site forms part of an allocation for over 1,300 new homes.<\/p>\n

Designed by the Birmingham office of architects Stephen George and Partners<\/a>, the proposals are for a mix of one, two, three and four-bedroom homes of multiple tenures, to suit single households and families of varying sizes.<\/p>\n

Situated in a highly sustainable location, well served by public transport<\/a> and local amenities, the design of the site responds to Taylor Wimpey\u2019s plans for the adjacent land, with new footpaths proposed to connect the new communities.<\/p>\n

The infrastructure requirements of the BROM2 housing allocation are met by the large scheme being delivered by Taylor Wimpey<\/a>, which will enable this Perryfields Road site to come forward swiftly and contribute to the Council\u2019s five-year housing land supply position.<\/p>\n

The open spaces proposed within the \u2018Secured by Design\u2019 development layout plan will include landscaping and ecological enhancements<\/a>. The high-quality homes have been designed in red brick and render to compliment the terraced, semi-detached, and detached homes within the vicinity.<\/p>\n

Living Space is a\u00a0development-led residential planning, design and construction services solution for Registered Providers,\u00a0PRS Funds, the NHS, Universities and Defence Estates, which provides an end-to-end service, enabling more homes to be delivered with greater efficiency.<\/p>\n

Having launched to the market in 2019, the company is already on site at its first seven developments, with many more in the planning system<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The combined\u00a0construction value of Living Space\u2019s development portfolio is in excess of \u00a372m, which equates to 580 affordable houses, apartments and bungalows.<\/p>\n

Proposals for a quality housing development<\/h3>\n

Chris Loizou, land and partnerships director at Living Space Housing, said: \u201cThere is a substantial unmet housing need within Bromsgrove and the surrounding area, with many people who work in the district commuting in.<\/p>\n

\u201cBromsgrove\u2019s Strategic Housing Market Assessment requires substantial new home delivery \u2013 including 219 new affordable homes<\/a> per year \u2013 so highly sustainable schemes such as this are required.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur proposals are for a quality bespoke development, which will contribute to and enhance the architectural character of the Borough.\u201d<\/p>\n

Philip Rawle, director of PDR Developments Ltd, added: \u201cPrior to submitting our planning application, we undertook public consultation across nearly 400 homes in the local area.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was interesting to see that there was an awareness of the lack of mixed tenure housing.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis scheme is vital to enable Bromsgrove District Council to increase the provision of quality new homes across a range of tenures, including socially rented and shared ownership.<\/p>\n

“We look forward to working with the council\u2019s officers and elected members as the scheme progresses through the planning system.\u201d<\/p>\n
